Meet Your Instructor:
JD Van Allen is Eden's Refuge's Lead Designer. JD is a professional edible landscape and orchard designer, his mission is to help churches turn underused land into living ministries. Having designed systems for backyards, parking lots, and public spaces, he is the perfect guide for your journey. JD believes that each design should be customized to reflect the mission of the church it serves.

Your Land Can Do More Than Just Look Nice
Most churches maintain grass that costs time, energy, and budget... but doesn’t serve the mission. What if your land could feed your community, create new ministry opportunities, and reflect biblical stewardship? In this free 1-hour online workshop, you’ll discover how community orchards can do all that and more.

We will discuss how big (or small) your orchard can be so you know what it might look like in your large field, around your playground, or even in a strip around your parking lot. We will talk about designing the orchard to mimic creation which reduces labour massively.

We will finish up by having a conversation about ministry opportunities that come from having a church orchard followed by a Q&A session.
